A leadoff hitter in “For Love of the Game,” Bill Masse, has joined the Mariners organization as a pro scout. Masse managed the Fisher Cats to 70 wins in 2007 — the most by any NH manager since the Fisher Cats moved into their new park in 2005.

Masse finished last season as Triple-A hitting coach for the Mets.

“I am excited to announce that I have joined the Seattle Mariners organization as a professional scout,” he said. “After 13 years as a manager and hitting coach in professional baseball, I am looking forward to joining another department of baseball - scouting and potential front office positions.”
