Celtics-Spurs Recap
Just saying …
– In the San Antonio Spurs Media Guide, in the few pages on Matt Bonner, there’s some very important information like Mr. Bonner “drives a white Pontiac Grand Prix” and “claims to eat at more Subway than Jared.”
– Brian Scalabrine is pretty much the worst NBA basketball player I’ve ever seen — and he started against the Spurs. Shot two air balls. Committed fouls after being out of position. This guy CAPTIVATED my attention because he was so bad. The crowd went wild for Scalabrine early in the game, but, by the end, fans were booing him.
– I could tell the Bonners were bummed out after Matt didn’t play in the game. Matt, naturally, said all the right things to reporters. There were about 100 fans waiting for him after the game.
– Spurs coach Gregg Popovich walked by Dave Bonner (Matt’s dad), tapped him on the back, said hello, and kept walking as if saying, “Hey, sorry, about not getting Matt into that game.”
– Then Matt played 24 seconds the following night at Toronto.
– Forward Robert Horry, the guy with seven championship rings, has not disappointed in two interviews with him. Basically, Matt is waiting for Horry to retire and take his job, but Mr. Horry couldn’t be more gracious when talking about the Red Rocket.
– Sorry for not blogging much the past week. When I haven’t been chipping ice off my driveway, I’ve been learning how to “Crank the Soulja Boy.” That’s a new dance you can learn here.
