Make up your mind, Ray
NH Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley, after criticizing Sen. Ted Gatsas, R-Manchester, for not resigning his Senate seat to run for mayor of Manchester, issues a press release blasting Attorney General Kelly Ayotte for resigning to run for U.S. Senate.
So, one week, Buckley says public servants should resign to run for another office, the next week, he says public servants break a public trust if they resign to run for another office.
Really, does anyone take this guy’s statements seriously at this point?

Oh Drew….You are comparing apples and oranges.
The NH state senate is in recess until January, except for filing bills for next session and study committees. If Teddy beats Mark Roy, Bobby Stephen or Richard Komi for mayor of Manchester he would resign sometime after the November election. Special elections not only cost money (thousands) but take up to 100 days or more. The senator-elect of district 16 would not take office until mid February or so. Missing the filing period for legislation and weeks of votes, committee hearings and other legislative activities.
On the other hand, the NH AG’s office is not in recess. The AG’s office is in the midst a long list of legal issues needing her attention. The process of replacing her will leave the office vacant during an important time.
So Drew, in reality my position is consistent: “Make sure the people’s business is getting done”.

Mr. Buckley if you are worried about “the people’s business” then why did your party stifle public hearings to debate that failure which your party calls a budget? The democrats out of control spending over the last 2+ years has and will continue to negatively impact NH residents for years as the democrats have dug NH into a serious hole. 38 new taxes and fee increases without any public debate and you are worrying about the people’s business? Your ranting about Mrs. Ayotte seems to be more about your personal catch phrase “politics of personal destruction” rather than a genuine concern for the “people.” I find it respectable that Mrs. Ayotte or anyone in her position would resign as partisan politics should never interfere with the AG position. Maybe you should ask your candidate Mr. Hodes why he has turned into Charlie Bass and has become a rubber stamp for Pelosi and the current administration? Spin it anyway you want to Mr. Buckley, but your party created the mess that NH is in, and in 2010 we the residents will hold the democrats accountable.
